FastTABS Software for Evaluation of Wetlands Hydrodynamics

چکیده
BACKGROUND: Rhers, reservoirs, and estuaries have been modeled for a number of years using the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers TABS numerical modeling system. TABS is a family of numerical models that can simulate hydrodynamic, sediment, and constituent transport processes in these water bodies. One of the most attractive features of the TABS system is the ability to simulate wetting and drying of shallow areas caused by either discharge fluctuations in rivers or tidal fluctuations in estuaries. While this capability has existed for some time, it has only recently been used for applications where wetlands were the primary interest.

Evaluation Trophy Based on Carlsson Index (TSI) Case study: Permanent wetlands in Pol-e-dokhtar County
Determining the amount of trophy in aquatic ecosystems is important because increasing the availability of nutrients is affectings all levels of aquatic ecosystems as well as changes in species abundance, migration, reduce in biodiversity and changes in the structure and composition of communities. Therefore, there should be a proper method for determining the trophy state or production in t...
متن کاملEvaluation of geotouristic capabilities of Poldokhtar wetlands based on the Pereira and Rhineard models
Wetlands are some of the most beautiful landscapes that can be creator or stimulus of a development process for sustainable development in local communities and ecosystems if they are properly planned and managed for tourism development. Geo-tourism or geological tourism has been used as the equivalent for environmental tourism in recent years. Environmental tourism is a natural resource-based ...
متن کاملERDC/EL TR-13-11 "Hydrogeomorphic (HGM) Approach to Assessing Wetland Functions: Guidelines for Developing Guidebooks (Version 2)"
The Hydrogeomorphic (HGM) Approach for assessing wetlands was developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a procedure for assessing the capacity of a wetland to perform ecological functions. The Approach requires classification of wetlands based on geomorphic setting, water source, and hydrodynamics. The objective of the Guidelines for Guidebook Development is to provide detailed guidance ...
متن کاملModelling the effect of marine processes on deltaic wetlands
Deltaic wetlands are among the most biodiverse systems on earth, provide important ecosystem services, and are natural buffers against violent storms and hurricanes. Marine processes change the planar configuration and internal stratigraphy of deltaic wetlands, and understanding their contribution to wetlands development and deterioration processes is a key issue for society. In this thesis, fi...
متن کاملComparing the Behavior Hydrodynamics Flow Over of Type A, B, and C Piano Key Weirs
The piano key weir (PKW) is a new type of hydraulic structure that has been of great interest to designers in recent years. In the present study, steady flow on the types A, B, and C PKWs was studied numerically using the FLOW-3D numerical model. Upon software validation using the experimental data, the 3D flow pattern on the types A, B, and C PKWs was studied, and along with the evaluation of ...
